Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) to provide direct patient care under RN supervision. The role requires a CNA/STNA or nursing student background with BLS certification. Per diem, up to 24 hours in six weeks, with on-site shifts at a Mercy Health facility in Ohio.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, vital signs, specimen collection, and basic bedside care, while adhering to safety and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• STNA or HCA certification or nursing student in acute care setting, or 1 year of relevant clinical experience.
• BLS certification by American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs general patient care (bathing, hygiene, linens, feeding, comfort).
• Observes patient responses and reports to RN/physician.
• Obtains and records vitals, height, weight.
• Assists mobility and positioning; supports physical therapy as needed.
• Delivers menus, assists with meals and hydration.
• Performs venipunctures and collects specimens; transports to lab.
• Administers ECG and wound care as directed.
• Monitors safety and follows universal precautions; maintains clean rooms and equipment.
