Job summary

HCA Florida University Hospital is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to join our team. This role focuses on immediate postoperative care, airway support, and monitoring neurological and cardiac status, with on-call availability for select non-business hours.

You will collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams, provide wound care as appropriate, and ensure patient stability during recovery.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• RN license (Registered Nurse) is required
• Must have 1 year of PACU RN experience

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while applying evidence-based practices.
• Work within an interdisciplinary team including providers, therapy, and other staff.
• Consistently apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe post-anesthesia care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor during shifts, and document changes and treatments provided.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, and follow-up steps
