Job summary

Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance (TOA) is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Pre-Op and Post Anesthesia Care Unit to deliver high-quality perioperative care across our Parkwest Surgery Center. You will assess patients, prepare them for surgery, monitor in PACU, and coordinate with anesthesia and surgical teams.

Responsibilities include administering medications as prescribed, documenting care, and ensuring patient privacy and safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Tennessee state license.
• Registered Nurse licensure.
• Membership in a professional organization preferred.
• Current BCLS, ACLS and PALS certified within six months of hire.
• Preferably one year experience in the post anesthesia care unit or critical care.

Responsibilities

• Assumes primary role of patient care delivery in Pre-Op and PACU.
• Coordinate patient flow; nurse-to-patient ratio reminders.
• Complete Pre-Op and PACU records legibly.
• Implement physician orders and nursing process.
• Maintain patient privacy, comfort, and safety.
• Provide emotional support to patient and family.
• Maintain narcotic, anesthesia drug inventories and required records.
• Prepare for next day surgeries and ensure stock.
