Orthopaedic Associates of Maine is seeking a PRN PACU RN to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center in Portland, ME. The successful candidate will provide nursing care in Phase I and Phase II recovery, ensuring patient safety and comfort after orthopedic procedures.

You will prepare patients for discharge and educate families on post-operative care. Responsibilities include assessing post-op patients, maintaining infection control, monitoring vitals, and coordinating care with the surgical team.

Formación

• RN license in good standing with Maine or eligibility
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong time management and care coordination abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical care

Responsabilidades

• Assess patients after surgery and document findings in the medical record
• Educate patients and families for discharge readiness
• Maintain infection control standards throughout the center
• Provide care in Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery
• Monitor vitals and manage post-operative conditions as needed
• Perform wound care and dressing changes per protocol
