Job summary

Boulder Centre for Orthopedics is hiring a PRN Perioperative RN for the Pre-Op/PACU team. In this role you will assess and prepare patients before surgery, manage IVs, and monitor perioperative status to ensure safety and readiness for procedures.

You will collaborate with surgeons and staff, maintain patient comfort, and document findings, with a strong emphasis on aseptic technique and HIPAA compliance in a fast-paced orthopedic environment.

Qualifications

• Active Colorado RN license is required.
• BCLS and ACLS certification required; PALS preferred.
• Prior Pre-Op/PACU and orthopedic experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess, instruct & prepare patients prior to surgery.
• Ensure operative and informed consents are signed and correct.
• Record vital statistics to confirm readiness for surgery.
• Initiate IVs and inform patients about procedures.
• Assess post-operative condition and discharge readiness.
• Monitor vital signs and progress; log findings in files.
• Answer questions and ensure patient comfort.
• Identify changes and report to physician.
• Perform interventions during post-operative emergencies.
