Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Euclid Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide wide-ranging services helping patients regain independence in daily activities, self-care, and responsibilities. You will focus on maximizing treatment outcomes and relearning essential skills to lead productive lives.

Shift type: PRN, with availability Monday–Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The role requires Ohio OT licensure and BLS; a clinical background in Neuro/Ortho and lymphedema experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current Ohio licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

  • Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition.
  • Establishes and revises a plan of care involving patient and family.
  • Delivers OT interventions appropriate to patient age and condition.
  • Supervises assistants and other support personnel.
  • Maintains complete documentation and timely care notes.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team assessments.

Job Details

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide wide-ranging services to help patients regain their ability to perform normal activities, self‑care and responsibilities. In this role, you will focus on maximizing their treatment outcomes and assisting them in relearning necessary skills to lead independent, productive and satisfying lives.

Shift type: PRN (as needed) shifts. Availability required Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
  • Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition.
  • Establishes, revises, and evaluates a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient/family according to their capabilities and desires.
  • Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard occupational therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
  • Supervises activities of occupational therapist assistants, students, and other support personnel.
  • Always maintains complete and up-to-date documentation and files regarding patient condition and effectiveness and timeliness of care and interventions.
  • Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary assessment of assigned patients. Participates as a member of the hospice interdisciplinary team when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • Current Ohio licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross for Healthcare providers
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a clinical area
  • Neuro/Ortho experience
  • Lymphedema experience
  • Hand experience
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load to support patient from falling.
  • Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor.
  • Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program.
  • Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse.
  • Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors.
  • Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families.
  • Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment.

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $50.00
Maximum hourly: $50.00
