Responsibilities
- Provide wide-ranging occupational therapy services to help patients regain the ability to perform normal activities, self-care, and responsibilities.
- Maximize treatment outcomes and assist patients in relearning skills to lead independent, productive, and satisfying lives.
- Evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional, cognitive, and/or psychosocial deficits affecting independent living skills.
- Assess patients’ ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.
- Design the plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment, and implement the plan using appropriate modalities.
- Document subjective and objective findings of patient progress and monitor and modify the plan of care as needed.
- Seek consultation as necessary and educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
- Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and the treatment setting, and provide information regarding adaptive equipment and support programs.
- Oversee the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to licensing laws, state regulations, and OT practice standards.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association
- Current Ohio licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in a clinical area
- Acute care experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk without an assistive device and to maintain balance to support patients from falling.
- Ability to meet physical demands at the heavy level defined by applicable standards.
- Ability to lift and reach with arms to assist with therapeutic treatment.
- Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to palpate muscle tension or monitor patient pulse.
- Visual acuity to observe gross and fine motor movements and read patient monitors.
- Clear speech to instruct patients and families.
- Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient descriptions of symptoms and responses to treatment.

- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $50.00
Maximum hourly: $50.00
The pay range displayed reflects the anticipated range for new hires. The final compensation will be determined after considering factors such as work history, experience, skill set, and education. The pay range does not include applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime) or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, retirement contributions).
