Job summary

University of Maryland Capital Region Health in Largo, MD is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedic team on a PRN basis. The role spans inpatient and outpatient care, with OR assistance and cross-team collaboration to ensure quality patient outcomes.

You will work with physicians, APPs, nurses, and other care professionals, covering 25-hour orthopedic shifts and participating in multi-disciplinary rounds and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and ARC-PA accredited PA program graduation.
• Current NCCPA certification and Maryland license.
• At least one year of orthopedic experience preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certification required; ATLS preferred.
• Must meet credentialing standards and UM policies.

Responsibilities

• Take comprehensive histories and perform physical exams.
• Participate in daily rounds in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Provide orthopedic care and assist in procedures as trained.
• Order and interpret tests and imaging; develop treatment plans.
• Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and care teams.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses and follow-up.
