Job summary

Vance Thompson Vision is seeking a PRN Surgical Technician to join our team in Billings, MT. You will prepare, organize, and maintain operating rooms, assisting nurses and physicians during procedures while ensuring a calm, sterile environment.

The role requires completion of an approved Surgical Technology program, with Ophthalmic Assistant or Ophthalmic Surgical Assisting credentials considered. Prior surgical tech experience is preferred, and the position offers flexibility for PRN hours.

Qualifications

• Completed an approved school of Surgical Technology.
• Certification in Ophthalmic Assistant or Ophthalmic Surgical Assisting may be considered.
• Previous surgical technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, organizing, and maintaining operating rooms according to federal, state, accreditation standards and facility best practices.
• Assisting nurses and physicians during surgical procedures by anticipating needs and passing instruments seamlessly.
• Positioning patients for surgery and maintaining a calm, reassuring atmosphere in the operating room.
• Monitoring supply levels, restocking surgical suites, and reporting equipment maintenance needs promptly.
• Turning over operating rooms between cases, ensuring that sterilization is maintained for patient safety.
• Organizing the operating room in accordance with standards and center policies.
• Preparing equipment and aiding surgeon during treatment and examination of patients.
