Qualifications

• Active continuing education requirements must be maintained

Texas Oncology is looking for a PRN Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team! This position will support the Beaumont, Texas location. It is Monday‑Friday, with no weekends or holidays, and no call. The role will be either Level I, II, or Senior based on candidate experience.

What does the Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) do?

Under minimal supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients in accordance with national and company standards and specialty regulations. The RN demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, developmental, and age‑specific differences among patients—late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly—and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient/family needs. The RN supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  
  • Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
  • Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
  
  • Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy line and record information in the patient chart.
  • Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments.
  • Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient chart.
  • Facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
  • Assist patients in locating available community resources.

Qualifications

Education/Training

Level I

• Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program (BSN preferred).
• RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Maintain continuing education requirements.

Level II

Level Senior
