Job summary

The Norfolk Regional Center (NRC) seeks a PRN On-Call Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and staff. You will perform custodial duties and support building operations, working independently or with a team under supervision.

Entry-level to semi-skilled role, with duties including cleaning, equipment handling, and routine sanitation to meet accreditation standards. Hours vary; on-call 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: none required for entry.
• Preferred: one year of housekeeping experience.

Responsibilities

• Rake and remove leaves, grass, and debris from building entrances.
• Move, load, and unload materials, supplies, equipment, and furniture.
• Mix cleaning and chemical solutions following established procedures.
• Assist in training new employees on routine procedures and equipment.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, offices, common areas, living areas and other facility spaces.
• Laundering towels, bedding, washing clothes, mop heads, clothes, and rags per standards.
• Routine floor maintenance of waxing and buffing tile floors.
• Complete monthly bacterial reports per standards.
• Operate commercial cleaning equipment.
• Inventory, stock, and replenish maintenance and custodial supplies.
