Job summary

Madrid Home for the Aging is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapy Assistant to support our therapeutic team under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. You will work in a modern therapy gym and contribute to delivering functional, measurable outcomes for residents.

Requirements include completion of an accredited OTA program with AOTA eligibility or licensure, and strong communication and leadership capabilities to collaborate with patients, families, and staff in a faith-based aging

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant Program and certification (or eligibility for) by AOTA.
• Valid license or eligible for licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in Iowa.
• High level communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Effective leadership and customer relationship skills.
• Ability to exercise mature judgment with initiative in analyzing and solving problems.

Responsibilities

• Work in a brand new therapy gym to deliver top-tier OT services.
• Provide therapeutic treatment aligned with patients' plan of care with measurable outcomes.
• Assist OT in restorative nursing programs in coordination with nursing staff.
• Plan and administer OT treatment interventions per OT Evaluation and Plan of Care.
• Educate patients and families on therapy roles and interventions.
• Monitor and document patient progress in response to treatment.

Job description

Madrid Home, a Western Home Community, is seeking to add a PRN Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team who will assist directly and indirectly with the delivery of Occupational Therapy treatment services under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities

• You’ll have the opportunity to work in our brand new therapy gym, equipped with the latest technology in therapy interventions, allowing you to provide top-tier care in a modern, innovative setting.
• Provide therapeutic treatment in accordance with the patients' established plan of care, with a focus on functional and measurable outcomes.
• Assist the Occupational Therapist in establishing restorative nursing programs, as necessary, in conjunction with restorative nursing department efforts to provide appropriate comprehensive care to patients.
• Plan and administer OT treatment interventions per OT Evaluation and Plan of Care.
• Educate patients and families regarding the role of therapy and therapeutic interventions.
• Monitor and document patient progress in response to treatment interventions.
