Job summary

PruittHealth in Brevard, NC is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a PRN schedule. The COTA will work under the supervision of an evaluating therapist and physician to execute therapy plans for residents in post-acute care settings.

The ideal candidate holds a valid state license, graduated from an ACOTE accredited program and is NBCOT eligible or certified. The role emphasizes care quality and compliance with practice acts and facility policies.

Qualifications

  • Valid professional license in the state of practice.
  • Graduate of an ACOTE accredited program and NBCOT eligible or certified.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of the occupational therapy care plan as prescribed.
  • Perform clinical tasks and document accurately and timely.
  • Follow established policies related to scope of practice.
  • Recognize priorities in patient care and respond promptly.
  • Complete orientation and trainings as required.
  • Support supervisor with related duties as directed.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the execution of the occupational therapy care plan and treatment to patients as prescribed by the evaluating therapist and physician according to the State Practice Acts
  • Perform clinical tasks, and communicate and document tasks in a timely and accurate manner
  • Follow established policies and procedures as related to the scope of practice
  • Recognize and respond to priorities in patient care
  • Complete all required orientation, in-services, and trainings successfully
  • Perform other related duties as necessary and as directed by supervisor
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid professional license in the state of practice
  • Graduate of ACOTE accredited school and eligible to take or has passed the NBCOT exam. If foreign-trained, must meet the same qualifications as U.S. educational program requirements
