We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to assess, plan, and implement rehabilitative programs that help residents regain independence in daily activities.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Conducting assessments of residents’ physical, cognitive, and psychosocial functioning.
- Developing individualized treatment plans aligned with resident goals and physician recommendations.
- Providing interventions such as ADL training, therapeutic exercises, adaptive equipment training, and environmental modifications.
- Documenting progress, interventions, and discharge plans following facility policies and regulations.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated resident care.
- Educating residents and families on therapeutic techniques, safety, and home programs.
- Participating in team meetings to contribute to care planning and goal setting.
- Staying current with evidence-based practices and regulatory updates in occupational therapy.
- Maintaining licensure and adhering to professional ethical standards.
- Demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and effective communication to foster a positive work environment.
Qualifications And Skills
- Current state licensure or eligibility as an Occupational Therapist.
- Preferred experience in skilled nursing or similar healthcare settings.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach with strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in assessment, treatment planning, and intervention techniques.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work directly with residents in a medical setting, including mobility assistance and equipment handling.
- Capability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Vision skills for close and distant focus, along with the ability to operate equipment and handle objects.
- Resilience to work full shifts, manage high-stress situations, and lift or maneuver equipment or residents as needed.
