Job summary

Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center is seeking an Occupational Therapist for the Acute Rehab Unit (ARU). The role involves evaluating patients, planning and implementing therapy to improve daily living and vocational skills across inpatient and outpatient settings.

The OT will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, ensure documentation compliance, and educate families on home care. A licensed OT with BLS is required, with pediatric to geriatric experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of current practice or qualify for traineeship/temporary license.
• BLS Basic Life Support is preferred; required within 30 days for some facilities or at hire for others.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals and patient history to determine therapy needs.
• Conduct evaluations and document progress per protocol.
• Administer OT treatments and create equipment as needed.
• Develop programs for functional, daily living, and motor skills.
• Monitor progress and adjust goals; participate in care conferences.
• Educate patients and families on home treatment procedures.
