Job summary

Riverside Regional Medical Center is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide individualized therapy programs for patients with acute and chronic conditions. The role may involve inpatient and/or outpatient settings, under Rehab Services management.

You will perform evaluations, develop plans of care, and work with a multidisciplinary team to maximize patient outcomes while documenting progress for compliance and billing. A Virginia OT license and CPR/BLS certification are required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
• At least 1 year of OT experience.
• Current OT license in Virginia upon hire; CPR/BLS certification required; NBCOT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform OT evaluations, determine diagnoses, and develop plans of care.
• Assess patient progress for evaluation, billing, and reporting.
• Advise on adaptive equipment to assist daily activities.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and participate in meetings.
• Assist and support training for team members, volunteers, and students.
• Follow and adjust treatment plans to maximize therapeutic benefit.
• Utilize testing results to update plans of care based on guidelines.

The Occupational Therapist may work in an inpatient and/or outpatient setting. The Therapist is supervised by Rehab Services management and maintains a positive working relationship with health professionals and ancillary staff.What you will doPerforms evaluations, determines OT diagnoses, develops plan of care, and performs occupational therapy procedures to aid in restoring function, improve mobility, relieve pain, improve health, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities.Evaluates and assesses the patient timely, based on principles outlined by practice guidelines, evidence based guidelines and regulatory standards (state & organizational policies, requirements of accrediting bodies, etc.). Assesses and documents progress for evaluation, billing and reporting purposes.Advises on adaptive equipment to help patients with daily activities.Builds trusting collaborative relationships with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care needs. Actively participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings, as assigned.Assists and participates in training and support of all team members, volunteers and students.Follows and carries out the treatment plan. Modifies to maximize therapeutic benefit and meet discharge criteria and returns to optimal level of care.
