Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience performing nuclear medicine procedures in a clinical or hospital setting.
• 2–4 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in an acute care hospital setting preferred
• Licenses and Certifications listed below ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

• Performs nuclear medicine imaging procedures and therapies per physician orders to ensure high-quality diagnostic images.
• Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals intravenously or orally, adhering to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.
• Operates and calibrates nuclear medicine imaging equipment, including gamma cameras and PET scanners, to ensure optimal image quality.
• Performs routine quality control checks on imaging equipment and maintains accurate documentation for regulatory compliance.
• Documents all procedures, radiopharmaceutical usage, and patient interactions in the EMR.
• Collaborates with Radiologists, Cardiologists, and other healthcare providers to update imaging protocols.
• Responds to isotope spills and reports as per NRC/RSO guidelines.
• Maintains patient comfort by providing clear procedure explanations and post-procedure care instructions.
