Job summary

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist I at Northwest Medical Center Sahuarita performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures under physician supervision, including radiopharmaceutical preparation, imaging, safety, and accurate record-keeping.

Collaborating with Radiologists and Cardiologists, you ensure high-quality imaging and patient care, while adhering to NRC/state regulations and facility policies on a per diem basis.

Qualifications

• Licensure in radiologic technology as required by state.
• Certification in nuclear medicine technology (ARRT/ARDMS/NMTCB) required.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• Experience preferred but not required (0-2 years).
• Ability to work with radiation safety protocols and NRC/state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures and therapies per physician orders.
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals following safety protocols.
• Assess patient condition and ensure exam appropriateness.
• Operate and calibrate imaging equipment and perform QC checks.
• Maintain NRC/state regulatory documentation and radiopharmaceutical records.
• Ensure safe handling, storage and disposal of radioactive materials.
• Communicate clearly with patients about procedures and post-care.
• Document all procedures in the EMR and coordinate with radiology staff.
• Collaborate with radiologists and cardiologists to update protocols.
