Job summary

OU Health is seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist III for the Edmond location. The role provides expert oversight of inpatient medication-use processes, staff supervision, and high-level clinical decision-making to ensure safe, compliant patient care.

The incumbent partners with nursing and physician leaders to optimize workflow, quality, and safety across units. The position requires ACPE-accredited pharmacy education, active Oklahoma licensure, and leadership in high-stakes

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy with a PharmD or B.Pharm.
• Active Pharmacist license with Oklahoma Board of Pharmacy or eligible to licensure.
• Preceptor certification within 18 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Oversee medication order verification, compounding, and distribution to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Develop staffing schedules and monitor timekeeping; respond to workload changes.
• Lead daily operations and drive improvements in pharmacy workflow and patient care.
• Manage inventory, storage, discrepancies, and record-keeping.
• Ensure quality-control documentation, including temperature and equipment checks.
• Lead huddles and communicate priorities and safety information.
• Mentor pharmacists, residents, technicians, and students.
• Stay current with pharmacy practice standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support accreditation readiness and quality-safety initiatives.
• Advance high-reliability operations through leadership and process improvements.
• IDS Pharmacist duties: oversee investigational drug services and regulatory compliance.
• Provide expert consultation for investigational products and trial workflows.
• Lead research workflow improvements and EHR alignment.
