Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking an MRI Technologist to produce high-quality MR images while ensuring patient safety and comfort. You will participate in ongoing training on positioning, protocol optimization, and MR safety guidelines across multiple system locations.

Candidates must have AMA-approved Radiologic Technology or MR Imaging training, ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification within 180 days, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Must have AMA approved Radiologic Technology or MR Imaging training.
• ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification within 180 days of hire and BLS certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, MR technique and patient positioning for MR.
• Prepare patients for procedures and address needs during examinations or procedures.
• Perform venipuncture, manage intravenous access, and administer medications as prescribed.
• Select MR pulse sequences per established protocols and data acquisition factors.
• Evaluate images for quality and correct patient identification.
• Adhere to MR safety guidelines per ACR; screen and control MR access.
• Identify and respond to emergencies.
• Educate and supervise students and other health care providers.
• Other duties as assigned.
