Job summary

Axis 3T MRI is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist – PRN to join our imaging team. The MRI Technologist will perform high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with protocols, safety standards, and physician orders, ensuring patient comfort and safety.

The PRN position offers flexible scheduling to support staffing needs, with duties including imaging acquisition, patient screening, contrast administration when indicated, and collaboration with radiologists and healthcare staff to provide timely

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology or MRI education program.
• Current MRI certification or eligibility as required by employer.
• ARRT MRI certification current.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
• Knowledge of MRI safety practices, imaging protocols, anatomy, and patient care.
• Strong communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the team.
• Previous MRI experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI examinations according to physician orders and protocols.
• Screen patients for MRI safety including implants and contraindications.
• Verify patient identity, review history, and explain procedures.
• Position patients and operate MRI to obtain diagnostic images.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to needs during exams.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort following MRI guidelines.
• Administer contrast agents when indicated and approved.
• Evaluate image quality and repeat sequences if needed.
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and providers for timely care.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation in EMR and imaging systems.
• Perform routine equipment checks and report malfunctions.
• Follow infection control, confidentiality, and QA standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe imaging environment.
• Demonstrate professionalism and flexibility on a PRN schedule.
