Job summary

Jefferson Outpatient Imaging is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist for a PRN position at our outpatient imaging center in Busteton, PA. Availability required for 1–2 Saturdays per month, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Under the Radiology Medical Director, the MRI technologist performs routine to complex MR procedures, ensuring safety, accuracy, and high-quality imaging for interpretation by licensed practitioners.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of routine to complex MRI procedures and protocols.
• Ability to operate MRI equipment.
• Ability to work independently and multitask.
• Documentation must be accurate and concise.
• Understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology and medical terminology.
• Familiarity with imaging IT systems and data management.

Responsibilities

• Receives, relays, and documents orders in the patient’s medical record.
• Corroborates clinical history with physician’s orders.
• Assumes responsibility for patient needs during procedures.
• Administers medications as prescribed and in accordance with regulations.
• Applies ALARA principles to minimize exposure.
• Performs venipuncture and maintains IV access as prescribed.
• Performs MRI procedures using established protocols.
• Evaluates image quality and ensures proper identification.
• Manages emergency situations and provides patient education.
• Performs quality assurance activities and QA testing.
• Conducts creatinine clearance testing per MR protocols.
• Selects pulse sequences per protocol and data acquisition needs.
• Manipulates and reconstructs digital data for display.
• Maintains archival storage of data.
• Maintains supply inventory and supports other modalities as needed.
