Job summary

Townsen Memorial Imaging - Humble is seeking a PRN MRI Technologist to perform magnetic resonance imaging studies, prepare patients, position them, and adjust imaging parameters. You will ensure high-quality images, conduct safety screenings for metal, and maintain infection control protocols within the MRI department.

Responsibilities include operating MRI scanners, producing diagnostic-quality images, and collaborating with the team to support timely patient flow and accurate diagnoses.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or an Associates Degree in Radiology Studies.
• Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).
• Registered MRI Technologist (ARRT-MR) or Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT-R).
• One year of MRI technologist experience in a healthcare setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate MRI scanners.
• Ensure quality imaging for diagnosis.
• Position patients to obtain best MRI image.
• Screen patients for metal before imaging.
• Explain MRI process to patients to reassure them.
• Perform MRI procedures in surgery or outpatient imaging.
• Maintain MRI equipment and perform basic repairs.
• Troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime.
• Protect patients and staff from metal exposure.
• Maintain imaging supplies and EMR transfers.
• Follow safety rules and report hazards.
• Protect patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.
