Job summary

North Star Diagnostic Imaging is seeking a dependable, patient-focused PRN MRI Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate provides exceptional patient care while producing high-quality diagnostic MRI imaging in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Flexible PRN scheduling allows work at multiple outpatient centers across the DFW area. Locations and opportunities across several DFW imaging centers are available, with collaborative radiologist and technologist teams to ensure safety and comfort

Qualifications

• ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification is required.
• Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program.
• Current BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic MRI examinations per orders and protocols.
• Position patients and educate them for a safe imaging experience.
• Screen for MRI safety, implants, contraindications, and compatibility.

PRN MRI Technologist

Location: DFW Area, Texas
Schedule: PRN / As Needed (Monday–Saturday)
Compensation: Competitive pay based on experience

Requirements

• Current ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program
• Current BLS certification preferred
• IV certification and contrast administration experience preferred
• Excellent patient care and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

This position offers flexible PRN scheduling with opportunities to work at multiple outpatient imaging centers throughout the DFW area.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic MRI examinations following physician orders and established imaging protocols.
• Prepare, position, and educate patients to ensure a safe and comfortable imaging experience.
• Screen patients for MRI safety, including implants, contraindications, and MRI compatibility.
• Safely administer intravenous contrast media in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols when indicated.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after contrast administration, recognizing and responding appropriately to adverse reactions.
• Operate MRI equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining exceptional image quality.
• Verify patient identity, exam orders, and clinical history prior to imaging.
• Maintain compliance with MRI safety standards and ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Accurately document patient information, imaging procedures, and contrast administration in the electronic medical record.
• Maintain MRI equipment and report any equipment concerns or malfunctions.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and quality assurance protocols.
• Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and clinical staff to provide outstanding patient care.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
• Assist with other duties as needed to support departmental operations.
