RAYUS Radiology is seeking a PRN MRI Technologist to operate MRI scanners, prepare and position patients, and ensure quality images for diagnostic use.

The role involves adhering to safety standards, maintaining RIS records, and assisting with protocol updates. Requires ARRT/ARMRIT registration, state licensure where applicable, and CPR certification. Flexible hours and a patient-focused environment offered.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved radiography program
  • ARRT or ARMRIT registration current
  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist in the applicable state
  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to competently perform MRI procedures independently
  • Certification in imaging specialty

Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI procedures with patient prep and positioning
  • Screen patients and verify identifiers before exams
  • Adjust MRI parameters and ensure accurate documentation in RIS
  • Maintain equipment, cleanliness, and safety standards
  • Support department with protocol updates and staff training
  • Complete other tasks as assigned

Job Summary

RAYUS now offers DailyPay! Work today, get paid today! RAYUS Radiology is looking for an MRI Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technologist, you will be responsible for the operation of assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient‑centered approach, you will provide MRI services within professional standards and with excellent customer service.

This is a temporary (PRN) position working variable hours, about 10 hours per week between 8:00 AM–4:30 PM and 2:00 PM–11:00 PM.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Patient MRI Imaging (90%)
  • Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
  • Explains and prepares patients for MRI procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned
  • Performs routine and advanced MRI procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeated scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
  • Adjusts MRI scan parameters correctly and as needed
  • Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Maintains an orderly and clean work area including sanitized equipment promoting good safety habits for patients and team members
  • Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
  • Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
MRI Department Support (5%)
  • Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
  • Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
  • Assists in the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable
Other Tasks (5%)

Completes other tasks as assigned

Requirements
  • High School diploma, or equivalent
  • Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
  • ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, current and in good standing, depending on State regulations and business need
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform MRI procedures independently
  • Certification in imaging specialty
