Job summary

HCA Florida Palms West Hospital is inviting a qualified Medical Technologist (PRN) to join our laboratory team. You will perform accurate laboratory testing, maintain records, and support patient care with timely results.

Ideal candidates hold an associate or bachelor’s in medical technology, with an active Florida technologist license or ability to obtain it during the interview process; 1 year MT experience is preferred and knowledge across generalist areas (Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry,

Qualifications

• A two-year associate degree is required.
• An accredited four-year degree in Medical Technology is preferred.
• Minimum one year of Medical Technologist experience is preferred.
• A Florida Technologist License is required or can be obtained during the interview process.
• Specialty licenses in clinical areas (Generalist preferred) include Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing following instructions and deadlines.
• Act as department lead in absence of supervisor when needed.
• Complete all required records and documentation for patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within established turnaround times.
• Exercise judgment in interpreting results and performing delta checks as needed.
• Review logs and resolve outstanding workload with staff.
