Job summary

SRMC Summersville Regional Medical Center seeks an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician to perform and analyze clinical tests across laboratory disciplines. The role emphasizes licensure compliance, instrument operation, quality control, and collaboration with nurses and physicians.

The position requires AS or AS degree in related science, WV licensure (HCTP or trainee), and prior MLT experience. A PRN/variable shift environment is described, with standard safety and infection control

Qualifications

• Associate of Science (AAS) in Medical Laboratory Technology or an Associate's degree in a chemical or biological science.
• Must possess current licensure as required by the state boards: WV HCTP License or WV trainee license; PA, MD, OH licenses are noted as applicable.
• Preferred: ASCP or AMT Medical Laboratory Technician certification.

Responsibilities

• Process and analyze samples, maintaining accuracy and productivity.
• Set up, run, maintain, and adjust laboratory instruments per procedures.
• Perform quality control and infection control procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy on patients as needed.
• Complete forms and report findings to nurses/physicians.
• Communicate results and collaborate with healthcare teams.
