Job Title: PRN Medical Lab Technician

Location: Rockville, MD

Hours: Every Thursday 7am-4pm and as needed

Benefits: Free parking at all offices

General Statement of Duties

Perform medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases in hematology, chemistry, immunology, microbiology, and urinalysis.

Supervision Received

Reports directly to the Laboratory Manager and Medical Technologist.

Physical Demands

Requires full range of body motion, frequent standing and walking, good eye-hand coordination, vision correctable to 20/20, ability to hear alarms and alerts, effective communication skills, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions

Exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, bacteria, and toxic substances.

Examples of Duties

• Perform technical laboratory functions including quality controls in chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, and urinalysis.
• Perform instrument maintenance.
• Interpret and report laboratory results accurately.
• Comply with safety and OSHA regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Performance Requirements

• Knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures, instrumentation, and methodologies.
• Knowledge of quality control procedures.
• Skill in performing laboratory procedures and resolving technical problems.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to follow protocols.

Education and Certification
