Job summary

Freeman Bentonville Hospital, part of Freeman Health System, is seeking a PRN Medical Lab Technician to perform routine and specialized moderate and high complexity tests on blood and body fluids under supervision.

You will maintain quality control, run instrument checks, document data, and assist in other lab areas as needed to support patient care. Prior acute care experience and certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or military equivalent in lab science required.
• Military course or certification may substitute for degree.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and specialized moderate to high complexity tests on blood and body fluids.
• Ensures accurate results via strict quality control procedures.
• Maintains instrument function checks and preventive maintenance per policies.
• Collects chain of custody urine drug screens as required and assists in other lab areas as needed.

Education

Associate Degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution

Military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks duration and Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician) background

High school diploma or equivalent

Tools

MT/MLS (ASCP) or equivalent certification
