QualDerm Partners is searching for a skilled PRN Medical Assistant specializing in Mohs Surgery to join our dedicated team. Our commitment at QualDerm Partners is to be the nation's premier source for comprehensive skin and aesthetics wellness, particularly in the realm of dermatology and skin cancer treatment. As part of our team, you will support our mission of providing unmatched care while ensuring a tailored experience for our patients undergoing Mohs micrographic surgery.
In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Mohs surgeon during procedures and providing essential support in patient care. Responsibilities
- Assist the Mohs surgeon in surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile and safe environment
- Prepare patients for surgery by obtaining medical histories and vital signs
- Provide post-operative care instructions and support to patients and their families
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation throughout the surgical process
- Assist in preparing surgical instruments and ensuring a well-organized surgical suite
- Educate patients on skin health, treatment options, and pre-operative/post-operative care
- Support office and surgical team with administrative tasks as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant preferred
- Experience in a surgical environment, particularly with Mohs surgery, is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dermatology terminology and procedures
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information discreetly and confidentially
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a surgical setting
- Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) systems and relevant software
