Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a PRN Mammography Technologist to support the Oviedo Outpatient Imaging Center in Oviedo, FL. You will perform high-quality mammography exams, adhere to MQSA/ACR standards, and collaborate with radiologists to ensure timely results.

The role requires strong knowledge of imaging protocols, patient safety, and excellent communication. Prior experience in radiology and EMR/PACS is preferred; schedule reflects a Day shift in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Mammography and Diagnostic Radiological Procedures/Positions.
• Ability to determine appropriate technical factors.
• Knowledge of Mammography equipment and MQSA/ACR regulations.
• Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Radiation Safety.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to complete Mammography exams in a timely manner under stress.
• Must read/write/speak conversational English; basic computer skills.
• Must maintain registries and licenses to perform imaging.
• Follow ALARA concepts for patient/staff exposure.

Responsibilities

• Participates in patient tracking and follow-up processes, assisting with recalls and scheduling as required.
• Supports breast center initiatives, including accreditation prep and community events.
• Follows department protocols for patient ID, informed consent, and time-out procedures.
• Maintains accurate documentation within EMR and PACS systems.
• Performs high-quality exams per orders and protocols to ensure accurate diagnosis.
• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and equipment is safe and functional.
• Notifies staff when inventory is low and performs QC checks as required.
• Operates mammography equipment to obtain optimal images and correct compression.
• Ensures patient safety, comfort, and clear explanations of procedures.
• Collaborates with radiologists to communicate results and next steps.
