Job summary
Valor Healthcare is seeking a licensed practical nurse to join the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Okeechobee, FL. This part-time, PRN position offers a weekday schedule, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits.
You will provide direct patient care under physician or mid-level supervision, perform routine assessments, administer medications, and collaborate with the VA team to support veteran health outcomes.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.
- Minimum one-year LPN/LVN experience in a primary care or ambulatory care setting; government healthcare environment preferred.
- Must be credentialed and in good standing with the Veterans Health Administration (VA).
- Must hold a valid, unrestricted nursing license in the state of employment or as required by VA contracts.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS certifications as specified by the contract.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient care, exams and routine nursing assessments.
- Administer medications as ordered and document in EMR.
- Operate diagnostic equipment (EKG, glucometers, etc.) and perform basic tests.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with VA and company policies.
- Collaborate with PACT Team and VA providers to develop patient care plans.
