Job summary

Gulf Coast Village in Cape Coral, FL is seeking a PRN on-call Physical Therapy Assistant to provide skilled PT interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA helps residents achieve their highest practicable level of function, mobility, independence, and quality of life while complying with facility policies and Medicare guidelines.

The role offers on-call scheduling with a pay rate of $40.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current PTA license in good standing in the state of practice.
• CPR certification required.
• Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility, post-acute care, long-term care, or rehabilitation setting preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare Part A, Medicare Part B, managed care, and skilled rehabilitation services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments as outlined in the established plan of care developed by the Physical Therapist.
• Implement therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, transfer training, strengthening programs, and functional mobility interventions.
• Monitor resident responses to treatment and communicate progress, concerns, or changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Accurately document daily treatment sessions, progress toward goals, and patient responses in accordance with regulatory and facility requirements.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, rehabilitation team members, and interdisciplinary care teams to promote optimal resident outcomes.
• Maintain productivity standards while ensuring quality patient care and documentation compliance.
