JOB INFORMATION
The Infusion Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing safe administration of products along with professional nursing care for patients in the clinic setting.
JOB SUMMARY
The Infusion Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse will work to provide a positive, safe, and professional care experience for all patients.The Infusion Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for the quality and accuracy of services provided and performs all tasks with the utmost care. Thoroughly review patient orders, medications, and health information and administer parenteral medications in accordance with treatment plan (under the supervision of a physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant and/or registered nurse). The Infusion Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse will assess and monitor patients’ health status and must be able to detect changes in symptoms or health status, know additional interventions is necessary and consult local Medical Director, referring Physician (MD) or Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Local Clinical NP or PA Director. Must thoroughly and accurately document all activities in Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The Infusion Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse will report to the Clinic Director.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES
The Infusion Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse does not hold any direct supervisory roles.
ESSENTIAL DUITES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Infusion Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse, but are not limited to:
ØProvides friendly and professional service in person, over the phone and through written communications.
ØDemonstrates empathy and understanding to establish rapport with patients and caregivers of all ages.
ØInitiates and maintains IV access for infusions.
ØSafely and accurately administers medications, without error, including oral, IM, SQ, and IV products.
ØPerforms ongoing patient assessments and notifies the supervising clinician of all abnormal findings.
ØUses Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to thoroughly input information, orders, schedule appts and document all patient care activities.
ØAccurately performs necessary nursing responsibilities including, but not limited to initiating and maintaining IV access for infusions, weighing patients, performing vital signs, phlebotomy procedures, administering oxygen.
ØDemonstrates appropriate storage and handling of drug products as well as human specimens.
ØEducates patients regarding symptom/side effect management during therapy and within the scope of practice.
ØCommunicates clearly and effectively with patients, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals.
ØDemonstrates an organized and efficient prioritization of workload and responsibilities.
ØMaintains a current knowledge of all equipment utilized and performs and/or oversees routine maintenance, calibration, and quality assurance of all equipment.
ØAssist with scheduling patients, collecting, and posting payment.
ØOrdering supplies and product inventory
ØActively participates with organizational quality and performance improvement efforts.
ØDemonstrates a commitment toward exhibiting Reliant Specialty Infusions core values/mission and advancing RSI strategic goals.
ØPerforms all other duties as required and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
ØLicensed Practical Nursing Degree from an accredited school
ØCurrent unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse licensure
ØAt least three years of clinical experience that includes training in infusion therapy.
ØCurrent provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
ØProficient with EHR platforms, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
ØMust be a team player, provide exceptional patient care and excellent customer service.
