Job summary

Cape Coral Hospital in Cape Coral, FL is seeking a part-time Lactation Consultant/Maternal Educator (IBCLC) for evening shifts 3:00 PM–9:00 PM, about two shifts weekly.

Responsibilities include comprehensive maternal, infant and feeding assessments, client education on pregnancy, childbirth, lactation and parenting, and collaboration with the care team to improve patient outcomes. Florida RN license and IBCLC certification required, BLS current.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science preferred.
• Experience: Obstetrical or neonatal nursing or lactation education experience required.
• Certification: IBCLC Certification required; Childbirth Education preferred; BLS required.
• License: Florida RN license required.
• Other: strong communication and interpersonal skills; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive maternal, infant and feeding assessments related to lactation.
• Provide education to clients on pregnancy, childbirth, lactation and parenting.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure quality patient care and outcomes.
• Apply nursing standards and nursing practice acts in care delivery.
