Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 2–4 years of lab processing or clinical support experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of specimen acceptance, preparation, storage, transport, and rejection requirements.
• Experience with safety, infection prevention, confidentiality, and quality-control procedures.
• Proficiency with barcode systems and standard office technology.
• Ability to interpret procedures and resolve routine processing discrepancies accurately.
• Strong organization, communication, and time-management skills in a busy lab.

Responsibilities

• Review specimens and orders to confirm acceptability under lab criteria.
• Process specimens using centrifugation, aliquoting, storage, and packaging procedures.
• Prioritize urgent and temperature-sensitive specimens to meet turnaround times.
• Investigate routine discrepancies and coordinate corrections with teams.
• Enter and update specimen status and disposition in the LIMS.
• Prepare specimens for internal testing, shipment, or disposal.
