Job summary

Vail Health in Vail, CO is seeking a Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery for PRN pool shifts in a high-acuity birth center. You will care for antepartum, laboring, delivery, postpartum, and well newborn patients, with Level II nursery support and a collaborative obstetric team.

The role requires BLS and ACLS, CO RN license, and at least one year of clinical experience. You’ll join a family-centered, high-autonomy team with on-call support and comprehensive benefits for PRN staff.

Qualifications

• One-year clinical experience required.
• State of Colorado Registered Nurse license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the daily patient flow to optimize patient care, safety and satisfaction.
• Demonstrates ability to triage incoming patient requests for services.
• Delivers patient education to facilitate plan of care and informed healthcare choices.
• Demonstrates ability to delegate care appropriately and according to Colorado statute.
• Demonstrates competent healthcare assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Handles high telephone volume of patient requests for medications, information and assistance.
• Coordinates patient care with physicians and hospital teams to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Works independently with minimal supervision.
• Delivers service using Relationship-Based Care to advocate for safety and patient preferences.
