Job summary

The Lab Tech 2 at Baylor Scott & White Health in Frisco, TX processes specimens, performs clerical checks and supports the laboratory workflow. May perform phlebotomy as needed and ensures accurate labeling and recording of patient samples.

Qualifications

• Hospital experience required.
• HS Diploma or GED.
• PRN morning shift; weekend availability.
• Phlebotomy skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine laboratory procedures with limited error range.
• Sorts, labels and records patient specimens; prepares for Medical Technologist to perform tests.
• Operates centrifuge, timers, cell washer and other lab equipment.
• Maintains inventory of supplies.
• Maintains communication with laboratory personnel and external customers.
• Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.
