Job summary

Sonic Healthcare USA in San Antonio, Texas is seeking a PRN laboratory operations technician to support patient care by processing and handling specimens. The shift is 4PM–1AM, with schedule variations and rotating Saturdays as needed.

You will enter patient and test information into the Laboratory Information System, uphold safety and quality standards, and collaborate with a team dedicated to compassionate care and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous training or experience in specimen collection or processing.
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment including telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms.

Responsibilities

• Perform a vital part of the patient care process by making sure laboratory specimens are properly processed, prepared, routed, and stored.
• Responsible for entering patient, client, billing and test information into the Laboratory Information System.
• Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions.
• Work in a laboratory environment with biological hazards and PPE requirements.
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control.
