Texas Oncology is seeking a PRN Lab Assistant to support our Longview location. This position is for a site open Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. The candidate should be available to work Mondays and Thursdays from 8am-5pm, with occasional coverage as needed.
This role will be classified as Level 1, 2, or Sr based on experience.

Under supervision, responsibilities include collecting and processing patient specimens, documenting results, performing specimen analysis, instrument maintenance, and quality control. The role involves following safety and quality policies, assisting with patient flow, properly identifying patients, drawing blood, maintaining equipment and records, and adhering to standard operating procedures and scientific methods.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
Requires full range of motion, manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Must have corrected vision, color perception, and hearing. Legible handwriting is necessary.
Regular exposure to blood, body fluids, chemicals, and infectious agents. Must follow safety protocols and handle hazardous materials properly.
