Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital in Charleston, SC is seeking Interfacility Transport Paramedics to join its new IFT team. This PRN opportunity involves transporting patients between Trident Health facilities and county EDs, using state-of-the-art ambulances.

The role requires SC paramedic license, an associates degree or EMT/Paramedic cert, and ACLS/BLS; offers flexible night/day shifts, comprehensive benefits, and growth opportunities within a leading healthcare system.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in EMS/Paramedic or EMT/Paramedic certificate required.
• South Carolina Paramedic license required.
• 1 year EMS field or hospital clinical experience.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support
• EVOC emergency Vehicle Operations Course within 60 days of start date.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Responds to EMS Call-Center requests for interfacility transports.
• Provides care in the out-of-hospital setting as primary provider during transports.
• Assesses, plans, intervenes, and evaluates patient care per SC scope and hospital protocols.
• Performs ED duties with extensive knowledge of protocols and techniques.
• EMS hand-off reports to nursing staff and ED physicians.
• Ensures readiness of ambulance and equipment for service.
• Seeks cost-control opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
