Job summary

Valley View is seeking a PRN Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to support the inpatient pharmacy operations in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. This role involves procuring and distributing medication orders and collaborating with physicians, pharmacists, and hospital staff to ensure timely and accurate medication delivery.

PRN coverage covers all shifts with current emphasis on day shifts; the position requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to respond quickly to emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Pharmacy Tech certification from the State Board of Pharmacy (DORA) preferred.
• Candidates with provisional DORA certification will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Procure and distribute medication orders per physician or pharmacist request according to policies.
• Respond quickly to emergency requests.
• Coordinate with hospital and pharmacy staff to manage workload and shifts.

Job description

We have an opening for a PRN Inpatient Pharmacy Technician in our Inpatient Pharmacy. PRN is to cover all shifts, but current need is for mainly day shift prn.

As the Pharmacy Tech you procure and distribute medication orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures and protocols.

SCHEDULE

• PRN - As needed to backfill employee time-off, vacations, etc.
• Will cover All Shifts (Day, Evening, Rotating Weekends), but currently day shift mainly.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Pharmacy Tech Certification from the State Board of Pharmacy (DORA) preferred.
• Will consider candidates with provisional certification from the State Board of Pharmacy (DORA).

Experience:

• 2-3 years pharmacy technician, inpatient or outpatient experience preferred.

Skills:

• Ability to work accurately with attention to detail.
• Ability to work cooperatively with hospital and pharmacy staff.
• Ability to respond quickly to emergency requests.
• Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
• Ability to set priorities and solve problems.
• Ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing).

SALARY RANGE

• Base Salary + PRN differential pay.
• Evening, Night and Weekend Differentials Available.
