Job summary

Human Touch Home Health is seeking a PRN Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide in-home physical therapy across Fredericksburg and surrounding communities. As a PTA, you will follow plans of care, assist with exercises, gait and balance training, and help patients improve mobility in the comfort of their own homes.

You can build your caseload around your availability with mileage reimbursement and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia Physical Therapist Assistant License required.
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication and patient-care skills.
• Ability to work independently in patients' homes.
• Home health experience preferred.
• WellSky experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments in patients' homes.
• Follow established plans of care.
• Assist with therapeutic exercises, gait, balance, transfer, and mobility training.
• Help patients improve strength, endurance, and functional mobility.
• Reinforce home exercise and fall-prevention programs.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safe mobility techniques.
• Monitor and document patient progress.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the supervising PT.
• Coordinate with other members of the home health care team.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation using WellSky.
