Job Description:
Caregiver duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with personal care: bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, hygiene
- Basic food preparation: preparing meals, cooking, grocery shopping
- General health care: overseeing medication and prescription usage, doctor appointments, medication reminders, and exercise
- Mobility assistance: help with ambulation and transferring, including getting in and out of a wheelchair, car, or shower
- Personal supervision: providing constant companionship and supervision
- Transportation: driving to appointments, errands, and assisting with wheelchair-accessible vehicles
- Emotional support: being a stable companion and supporter in personal, health-related, and emotional matters
- Care for the elderly: caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s or other dementia, and relaying information from doctors to families
- Back-up care (respite): providing breaks for family or professional caregivers
- Home organization: assisting with organizing, packing, cleaning, light housekeeping, and laundry
- Health monitoring: following care plans and reporting health changes
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year caregiving experience
- Knowledge of emergency response and CPR
- Knowledge of housekeeping and cooking with dietary considerations
- Understanding of personal care needs
- Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
- Respectful and compassionate attitude
- Good time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic and physical endurance
- High school diploma or equivalent
