Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the EVS Supervisor, the EVS Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning assigned areas such as operating rooms, patient rooms, bathrooms, administrative offices, the O.R. break room, and other designated areas.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Ensure housekeeping supplies are stocked daily according to PAR levels
• Clean, buffer, scrub, and wax floors as a floor technician
• Perform trash pickup and proper terminal cleaning daily
• Decontaminate clinical areas, equipment, and supplies per hospital policies
• Recommend revisions to policies and procedures as needed
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment, adhering to safety and infection control standards
• Wear proper attire and PPE in restricted areas
• Handle biohazardous materials safely, report spills, and ensure chemical safety
• Keep janitorial closets clean and organized
• Post safety signs and report hazards
• Identify and report risks to patients and staff
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

Ability to bend, sit, squat, crawl, reach, lift up to 50 lbs., stand long periods, and push/pull with exertion of up to 50 lbs.

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year experience in Environmental Services or housekeeping in an ambulatory/surgical setting preferred
