Job summary

AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is seeking a Hospital Retail Pharmacy Technician for PRN coverage. You will perform advanced technician duties, including hazardous compounding, dispensing, inventory management, and support for formulary and safety initiatives.

The role requires collaboration with pharmacy staff and clinical teams to ensure continuous patient care across shifts. The position involves delivering patient-discharge meds within the hospital, and may require Thursday/Friday 9-5:30 shifts

Qualifications

Strong verbal and written communication required for patient and staff interactions.
Flexibility to work PRN shifts and varying hours within a hospital setting.
Ability to follow directions and work under supervision of a pharmacist.
Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills expected.

Responsibilities

Lead or contribute to compliance audits and documentation related to medication-use processes.
Assist with regulatory inspections documentation and preparedness.
Collaborate with pharmacy staff and nurses to ensure continuity of pharmacy services across shifts.
Independently prepare and dispense patient medications and compound complex preparations per USP standards.
Support training and onboarding of staff and learners.
