Advocate Health’s Wake Region Hospital Medicine team is seeking a PRN Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to provide flexible inpatient coverage across multiple locations in the Wake Region. The role supports PTO, FMLA, illness call-outs, and high census periods, with schedules developed quarterly in collaboration with the APP Manager.

Coverage may occur at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, Davie Medical Center in Bermuda Run, High Point Medical Center, Lexington Medical

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Nurse Practitioners must hold a Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice with ACNP/AGACNP certification.
• Physician Assistants must hold NCCPA certification; CAQ preferred.
• Current NC license to practice as NP or PA.
• Current prescriptive privileges and DEA registration.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and follow-up medical histories and physical examinations.
• Conduct daily inpatient assessments and ongoing patient management.
• Evaluate, admit, consult, and manage hospitalized adult medicine patients.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians; order and interpret labs and imaging; prescribe medications.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and document encounters in the EMR.
• Promote quality, safety, and evidence-based care while adapting to multiple locations.
