Job summary

Interim Healthcare of Augusta is expanding into hospice and seeks a compassionate Chaplain to support patients and families in the Houston area. The role starts as PRN/part-time with potential to grow into full-time as hospice services expand.

The Chaplain will provide spiritual care, assessments, and counseling, collaborate with the care team, facilitate rituals, and assist with crisis support and care planning in accordance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Endorsement by a recognized religious/spiritual body.
• Experience in hospice or healthcare chaplaincy.
• Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual support and counseling to patients and their families.
• Conduct spiritual assessments of patients and implement appropriate care plans.
• Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
• Facilitate religious or spiritual rituals as requested by patients.
• Offer crisis intervention and bereavement support.
• Participate in the development and delivery of patient care plans.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding spiritual care.
• Participate in biweekly interdisciplinary team meetings.

Employment Type

This position will grow as our hospice service line grows. Initially this role is envisioned as PRN, or part-time, with the potential to transition to full-time in the near future.
