Job summary

AdventHealth in Fruitland Park, FL is seeking a Paramedic to join our PRN team. You will respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, triage and provide advanced life support, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary health care team to deliver compassionate care in fast-paced settings.

Required license as Paramedic with BLS/CPR; ACLS preferred; High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed Paramedic with CPR/BLS certification at minimum.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.

Job Description: Assists higher-trained personnel in providing effective care.Delivers exceptional customer service to patients, families, bystanders, and other response agency personnel. Supports community service and relationship functions as requested by leadership. Maintains a safe and effective work environment by adhering to infection control standards. Communicates effectively with healthcare team members and other emergency responders. Ensures the ambulance is clean, stocked, and ready for use at all times. Follows established policies, procedures, guidelines, medical protocols, and safety standards. Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls to provide care to ill and injured patients. Performs assessments and applies methods of treatment and transport based on medical protocols. Operates the ambulance safely and professionally, obeying traffic rules and regulations. Completes patient care reports, daily checklists, and other required documentation.Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to assess, treat, and care for patients to the level of certification
• Ability to maintain a professional and calm presence under the most critical situations
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and professional manner
• Ability to determine the nature of patient conditions and assess whether patients have pre-existing medical conditions
• Ability to identify and treat life-threatening conditions within the paramedic's field of practice
• Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively
• Must have the ability to react calmly and effectively in the most critical situations
• Knowledge to identify patient acuity levels
• Ability to utilize and adapt to state-of-the-art technology, computer systems, and computer applications
• Effective oral and written communication
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and others of diverse backgrounds

Education:

• Associate [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 1+ related work experience [Preferred]

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
• Driver's License (DL) [Required]
