University of Maryland Medical System Corporation seeks a Safe Nurse for the Emergency Department (PRN). You will conduct assessments, collect forensic evidence, and provide compassionate care to alleged victims, following ED and forensic nursing standards.

Qualified candidates hold Maryland RN licensure, FNE-A certification, and BCLS certification, with ongoing education and interdepartmental collaboration. On-call coverage and cross-shift availability are expected in this role.

Formación

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with active RN license in Maryland and FNE-A certification.
• BCLS certification required; additional departmental certifications may be required.
• FNE-A licensure and nursing competencies aligned with ED and forensic nursing standards.

Responsabilidades

• Perform ED assessments and document per ED policy for alleged victims or suspects.
• Collect, prepare, and submit forensic evidence or photographs when indicated.
• Follow Jane Doe policies to ensure appropriate follow up instructions for victims.
• Provide emotional support to the alleged victim and family.
• Explain procedures prior to performing them with age-appropriate communication.
• Maintain ongoing professional education and participate in required meetings and SART activities.
